Height of Stupidity
8.00 pm. Soft tinkling of a bell.
Again and again. Tinkling very near to me.
I get goosebumps. Then I decide that it must be a cat in my room. I start searching for it in my room and the adjoining one. I even meow to get a response.
The tinkling still going on. I stare around my room to see what could be tinkling without the ceiling fan on!!
Random Thoughts on Republic Day
So India celebrated her 60th Republic Day today. Like every year I watched the parade on TV. This post is a collection of the few random thoughts I had during the show.
1. Only 6 were awarded Ashok Chakra out of the 16 brave officers who died fighting terrorists in November. I think the government could have afforded or made exceptions this time to award them all. It was touching to watch tearful wives receive the awards. May their souls rest in peace and may their sacrifices not go wasted.
2. Helen, Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were awarded the Padma Shree. Helen is a legend so I can understand..even Akshay Kumar too if I stretch my understanding power but Aish???? For her immense acting skills ?? For winning Miss World a decade ago?
A Talk and Test With Colors
Vishesh tagged me to talk with colors.
And he really wanted me to do the tag!! Though I am a Gemini, I don’t have such a wild imagination needed to do the tag. Anyway I have tried my best with VIBGYOR. Starting the tag from the last one and my favorite color :-
Red :- why do you love me so much when people associate me with danger or anger?
Me – I love you because you are the brightest of all and I love bright things since childhood. I associate you with energy, spirit, power…life!
Viva-voce Experiences and Anecdotes
Viva-voce is an essential and integral part of any professional curriculum. Its supposed to be just as scary as a theory examination and sometimes even more as its an oral examination. Though I had given viva voce at school level I don’t remember anything about it. You can read Ishmeet’s experience of a school viva here. In a field like Engineering or Medical, practical knowledge is much more important than theory. Viva-voce tests just that.
I don’t know about all but in many private engineering colleges viva-voce serves as a source of entertainment and frustration for the external and the internal examiners respectively rather than an ordeal for the students . The increasing disregard in students for studying before practical exams and the decreasing sincerity and quality of students in engineering can be attributed to cropping up of engineering colleges like mushrooms and the trend of not failing anyone in viva in private engineering colleges.

A to Z Movie Tag Part 2
Its been 4 days since 2009 started and I didn’t get the time to write a post. Lots of things going on at work. Is it a bad omen to start the new year with a tag post?
Dev has tagged me for A to Z movie tag. The tag asks you to list an alphabetical list of your favorite movies, one for each letter of the alphabet. He has also asked me to write few lines about the movie too. I have already done half the tag in Part 1. Now continuing the tag…..
N – Noises Off. A traveling theater group with both on-stage and off-stage drama and humor. Love the movie for its witty humor, concept and Michael Caine. Christopher Reeves is cute too! A must watch.

Until now we all have been receiving awards for our blogging styles and blog posts. Now there is an award for commentators (Shouldn’t it be commenters? Webster or rather WP dictionary should add it!) doing rounds in blogosphere. Apar gave it to me for being nice to her and Vishesh awarded me because in his words
Thanks dear Apar and Vishesh.
