Changed my blog theme…how is it?
A long time ago Prats and Ritu gave me the Cherry on the Top award.
Cheer #1
I was selected as one of the five “Ghumakkars of 2009” – “people have done their bit of traveling in 2009, shared their experiences with fellow community, been around for advice/suggestion and jabs , and love to be called Ghumakkars.”
This year I won the “IndiBlogger of the Month May 2009 – Original Humor” contest. Again I was one of the three winners at “Star Movies Indiana Jones Blogged Challenge on IndiVine.” And before the year ended, another contest has come along – a contest which started it all, a contest which is one of its kind, a contest which is happening again at public demand, a contest “of the bloggers, by the bloggers, for the bloggers”, a contest where I won awards in 4 categories last time and was also the runner up for 4 categories!! [ All of you do remember Reemawati right? and her famous election campaign] A win in this contest and it will be a “HATRICK” for me!
Its been days since I saw any new award doing rounds of the Blogosphere. As Vishesh says in one of his posts, the days of receiving pingbacks and all those old blogging stuff seems to have ended. Where are all those creative people who used to design these awards in the first place?? I sound like the old people who say “Hamare zamane mein”..no?
Thankfully, I did receive a few some time ago. I have been late in acknowledging them and passing them along. Excuse me for that!
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers!!! I am back! The last theory exam of my life – Over!! O-V-E-R. I tell you there are few things as stressful as giving an exam..a break up maybe. Now I can safely say that after studying kindergarten, Class 1 to 12, B.E. And double M.E. ; I’ve only 500 MB space left in my brain.
I just can’t and I wont study anymore ever! The palpitation, the burning of midnight oil [tubelight to be precise], the shortage of sleep, the tension, the butterflies in stomach, the loss of appetite….my Dad says the most difficult work in life is to study and I think he is right
A blog is a type of website that is usually arranged in chronological order from the most recent ‘post’ (or entry) at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom. ~Darren Rowse
Well that is a “traditional” and “literal” definition of blogging, isn’t it? My first impression of blog was a web-space where people wrote on various topics and everyone had their own web space to do it. So I guess this definition is better :-
A blog is merely a tool that lets you do anything from change the world to share your shopping list.
The IndiBlogger of the Month is awarded to a blogger who churns out great content, has a loyal fan base and who’s dedication is an inspiration to all IndiBloggers.
I WON!! I WON!! I WON!!
Remember my post “Classification of Students” where I classified students of a class in some categories based on my teaching experience?
All of you had a good laugh and remembered your college days, didn’t you?
Remember my post “Road Rash in Real Life” where I wrote about the specimens I encounter daily on roads ?
As I wrote in my earlier post, I have been toying with the idea of changing the name of my blog. So I asked my readers whether I should change my blog name or not in a poll. The results were :-
51% voters said no.
39% voters said yes.
5% voters polled can’t say and another 5% said “others”.
There were some good and hilarious suggestions from Suda and Vikas. I too have come up with some names :-

As the awards come to a close, we thank everyone who has helped us make this endeavor a success. To give back to our readers, we have come up with another contest. All you have to do is to guess who will be the winner in the following six categories. The Categories are:
1. Best Film
2. Best Director
3. Best Actor (Male)
4. Best Actor (Female)
5. Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male)
6. Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female)
The movie awards this year, be it the 81st Academy Awards or the 15th Star Screen Awards or the 54th Filmfare Awards, have been disappointing. Though Slumdog Millionaire may be a good movie yet I think it didn’t deserve the Oscar for best picture. Similarly a wonderful movie like A Wednesday did not get a single award at Filmfare Awards. Jodha Akbar wasn’t that bad maybe but I don’t think it deserved the Best Film award at both Star Screen and Filmfare. Hrithik won for Best Actor when Nasseruddin Shah gave an awesome performance in A Wednesday? Then we have winners like Tusshar Kapoor for Best Actor in Comic Role for his “wonderful” comedy in Golmaal Returns!! I found the movie “One Two Three” funnier than Golmaal Returns and Arshad Warsi’s comedy a lot better in “Sunday”.
I love watching Oscar awards more than any Filmfare or Star Screen or xyz awards and luckily I have been able to watch it every year except when I was in hostel during my B.E. This year, I got up as early as 6.15 am today to watch 81st Academy Awards live on Star Movies from 6.30 am. This was possible only because today is holiday due to Mahashivaratri. I can catch up on my sleep later.
The host Hugh Jackman’s performance was awesome!! And the new style of presentation like calling previous winners of the actor categories to announce the new winner was good. The performance before Best Song was wonderful too. But the Academy Awards of 1999 hosted by Whoopi Goldberg was the most enjoyable of all the ones I have seen. Hugh didn’t try comedy one liners and digs at people. Instead he gave a wonderful musical performance with Beyonce.
Yippeeee!!! I am soo happy!! My blog post where I wondered that why Aishwarya was awarded Padma Shree has been mentioned in the Bloggers Park column of the Bangalore Mirror and the Mumbai Mirror newspapers. (I guess both have that section common!). Thanks to Appu for informing me and to Nikhil for being sending me the scan of the article. Here it is :-
