Dainik Bhaskar, a national Hindi newspaper, carried an article on Blogging. A Bengali Mother who has a daughter of marriageable age read it.
She was intrigued by this blogging business. She asked her daughter about it.
Mother : Do you know what is this thing called blog?
Daughter explained eagerly: Its a place in internet where one writes his/her views on various topics. Somewhat like articles in newspaper. But its interactive.
Mother: Okkk….Hmmm..
Daughter: You know I too have a blog.
Mother: What do you write?
Daughter: Oh, on various topics, like my views on something. And I have many readers too, who like what I write and appreciate my blog.
Mother ponders over this.
Mother: So is there any Bengali guy among your readers?
SILENCE
๐ ๐
So, is there? ๐
Reema: Well as far as the readers I know, there isn’t any Bengali guy among them.
All the best! And tell you mom that there’s a Bangalore guy who reads your blog, among others! And this Bangalore guy will put up matrimonial profiles for the “daughter of marriageable age” for a decent fee..!! ๐
Reema: U will charge fee from me?? How mean! This is your friendship? Miser!!
lol! and your mom? does she know you have a blog? ๐
Reema: Oh that is my mother only. I have just narrated the incident in third person.
ROFL :D.
Reema: ๐
ROFL ๐ ๐
Mothers!!! ๐
Reema: Seriously yaar! mothers! ๐
Funny ๐
Reema: Yeah!! ๐
he he he ๐
Does your mom know of your blog URL now? ๐
Reema: Naah she was not interested in that. Also she isnt net savvy.
So, did you tell your mum if there were any?! ๐ ๐
Reema: Well as far as the readers I know, there isn’t any Bengali guy among them. Anyway I was too busy laughing!!

Reema: ๐

I have been asked the same question too !
Reema: Mothers!!! ๐

Iam now forwarding your blog url to some of my Bengali friends. ๐
Reema: Thanks!! But only to be my readers ok ๐
You should mention it to your mom that, the blogs also have a profile page and a picture of the author ๐
Reema: No thanks!! ๐
wow…quite interesting! never looked at blogging from your mom’s angle.
Reema: Neither did I!!
Now that’s yet another benefit of blogging…
Reema: Oh yeah?? ๐
haha not at all suprised, considering I am a mom myself. ๐ But seriously, I think a blog is a great way to get to know the thoughts of people, even from comments you can tell a lot. ๐ Btw, there is one Bengali guy around, but well, he isn’t blogging much lately. ๐ ๐
So keep your mind and heart open Reema…hehehe!
Reema: Nitaaaa!! No thanks ๐
๐
I cud understand…
thats soemhow is the mentality of people…who are just comfortable and have never seen community or groups beyond there own caste ๐
good one ๐
Reema: Thanks!! But I didnt quite get ur comment. My mom was thinking of eligible grooms when she asked that. I don’t think it has anything to with mentality or casteism!!
i couldn’t stop laughing after reading this…. my mum is capable of asking me this question as well….
Reema: Yes!! Beware!!
i like.i like.i like.
Reema: Hehehe!!
I cant imagine the scenario if blogging and matrimonial services join hands!
Good one! ๐
Reema: Thanks!!
haha….I am doubtful now if my mom wud ask me now!! ๐ ๐
Reema: Beware! She may do that!
All moms are the same. ๐
We were a group of 7 friends in Chennai and each and everyone’s mom have asked if he/she wanted to marry someone from the group(ofcourse to the correct gender ๐ ).
Now my mom is after the girls in my office!
Reema: Hahaha so is there any eligible girl? ๐
Hahaha LOL, after reading the comments, I realised that after all it was your Mom…!
Just give a shout, I don’t mind spanning the entire blogosphere to find a bengali guy and also hold him on a gun point to ensure that he becomes your reader??? You just need to say it babe! ๐ LOL
Reema: Thanks!! But only to become reader ok? ๐
Btw, you have been assigned a letter on my D is for post ๐
Reema: Yes I saw ๐
why???…u r asking me why???….of all the people, u r asking me why????
what made priya, nikhil and apar make references about me in their blog !!! Think ….
Reema: One has to keep up pretenses ๐
Recently I got a chance to watch a Bengali movie. Quite nice, I must say. I now understand why Bengali guys don’t have time to blog…. ๐
Destination Infinity
Reema: Which movie was it???
i guess when the daughter reaches a marriageable age.. that is the only thing going on in the mother’s mind
Reema: Welcome to my blog! yeah sadly u r right. Keep visiting!!

Whatever the responses you have received till time … it is OK! But if you ask me … it is really a best and comprehensive platform to share you heart to someone else …. what you say?
Reema: Welcome to my blog. yes blog is a very good platform for sharing of thoughts between like minded people. Keep visiting!
Hehehehhe!! Seriously moms would go to any lenghts to find eligible men for their daughters. One of my friend’s moms actually invited home one of those guys in banks who attend to people, thinking he wud be good for her daughter!! Poor my friend!! She freaked out nonetheless ๐
Reema: Oh my god! Thank god Mom hasn’t done anything like that..yet
thanks for being ‘secular’ …u r single …right ?
