Yes Man – “Life is calling. Where are you?” – This sentence kind of sums up the movie Yes Man. Jim Carrey is Carl Allen whose wife left him 3 years ago and he hasn’t been able to get over it since then. He makes all sorts of excuses to stay confined in his home and thus leads a very boring routine life. But after attending a motivational speaker’s session, he pledges to say yes to everything that comes along because there may be a hidden opportunity in anything. Jim Carrey has acted very well as usual and I believe in whole of Hollywood only he can contort his face like that and make us laugh 🙂 The story is different and humorous. Definitely watchable.

As a side effect of watching the movie, I accepted all the follow requests on twitter 😀  I thought what the heck…if I don’t like their tweets I can remove them later always.

The Day The Earth Stood Still – I haven’t seen the original movie released in 1951 so I can’t compare the two and judge how good the remake is.  Its a sci fi movie starring Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly. Jennifer is an astrobiologist who is made a part of a team to develop strategy to stop collision with a “thing” headed towards the earth at great speed. It turns out to be an alien in human form and a huge robot who have come all the way to save the Earth. The movie is slow and lacks the building up of climax. In fact it felt as if the movie started from the climax!! Too much cliched sci fi stuff. Actors have been wasted. There is a lack of flow in the story. The special effects are nothing special. Watch at your own risk. 🙂
