Winds of Change

Oh my god!! It has been 12 days since I posted in my blog.  😦 Work, family, cold and lack of inspiration in that order are the factors responsible for such a sacrilegious act. 🙂

Celebrated Mom’s birthday on 9th Jan.

Watched Avatar at last! But in 2 D 😦 Liked the movie a lot. 🙂 It could have been a bit shorter though.

The new year seems to have brought about winds of change not only in people’s lives but also in the blogosphere.

My blogging guru Nita has gone on a long indefinite break and is not even sure whether she will be returning to blogging!! 😦 😦

My blogging and real life buddy Sakhi has also bid adiós and gone on an indefinite break.  😦 😦

My blogging friend Vishesh had almost “pulled the plug” but I drummed some sense into him. 😀 😀

Another blogging friend Devinder deleted his old blog. 😦 He has started another blog on films and film making.

Another good blogger Destination Infinity has gone on a break but thankfully for 2-3 months only.

To those who have gone :-

Picture abhi baaki hai mere doston! Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna….Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte…. kyuki…Hum Hai Blogger Ek Hi Sphere Ke. 😀 😀 (could not come up with anything wittier )

Now for the happier changes

My blogging friend Indyeah resurfaced at last and announced that she was engaged!!! It was wonderful to see the mushy side of Indyeah 😀 She has decided to call “him” PM (Pati Material) on her blog. She has again gone into hiding and I think this time when she returns she will say she has got married! 😛

Another blogger friend Prats of Ginger and Cardamom fame is going to make his life even more spicier! 🙂 He is getting married on 20 Jan! He has decided to call “her” WhyFee on his blog.

My blogging and real life buddy Vimmuuu has made place for another person in his Lokam. 🙂 He is getting married on 7 Feb!

Someone called MD MUZAMIL HUSSAIN got married too on 10 Jan. Why did I address him as someone? Because I don’t KNOW the guy at all and he sent me marriage invite in email!! I think it is the fault of “Send to all contacts” option. I guess my email id was in his list somehow and he used the option. 🙄

To those who have decided to tie the knot; remember this wonderful advice.

On Marriage

Kahlil Gibran

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.

And ohby the way I am getting married too on 4th Feb 2010. 😀 Details in some other post! 🙂

  5. Well, I got to know what’s happening in the blogging world thanks to this post. 🙂 Good to know people are coming back too, and not just going! This going thing is sad, isn’t it, but real life calls. I never knew you knew Sakhi in real life, but I should have guessed, as you two came into blogging together.
Will be in touch Reema, as I plan to visit everyone’s blogs at least once a week. Good to know that indyeah is back. 🙂

  6. Congratulations to MD MUZAMIL HUSSAIN !!! 😀

  8. Congrats yaar! 2010 seems to b year of marriages!!!
And ya, Nita’s and Sakhi’s announcements were rather shocking! I am planning to start writing posts in my blog again and all these announcements seem very depressing and demotivating!! 😦

  9. Wow! Another post that is designed to make me feel like an old fart! All I’ll say is “Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost!” Congratulations to all the ones listed above who are getting hitched

  10. Congrats! Suspected as much from one of your tweets.

I too am wondering why so many bloggers have gone dormant (Nita, are you reading this? :)) in recent months.

  11. Great to see a poem by Kahlil Gibran here.

And why was the best news in the end… almost as an afterthought… ???

Afterall you are going to collect/receive yet another Master’s degree while someone will have to shed his bachelor’s. What???

    Congratulations and celebrations!!!

  12. OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

I am sooooooo glad I read this in time to wish one of the most dedicated bloggers and acamedicians, a wonderfully happy and blissful married life 🙂 🙂 🙂

God bless the two of ya 🙂

  13. A beautiful post. Saddening how people go away, but perhaps, love being everywhere not only in marriage, that ‘there be spaces in our togetherness’, it may be good.

I’ll send the profound poem on marriage to my wife. Oriental writers (in Lebanon orient begins I believe) explain all with terrific metaphors.

  14. I HAD MISSED THAT LAST LINE!!!

    CONGRATSSSSSSSSS!!!!

[it was so … understated … you people took too much from the Brits]

    😦 😦

Good I was tho in time. Tomorrow big Day! All possible happiness we say

  15. It’s a treat to go through your blog. My stomach is filled after going through your posts. It’s a best treat you can give on occasion of your marriage….Happy married life.May you flourish your name ,fame and prosperity…
