Happy and Sad Month

February started with a trip to Pune to celebrate my first wedding anniversary with D. Had thought of posting on that day i.e. 4th Feb but was too busy spending time in the real world ๐Ÿ™‚ I made a video on our first wedding anniversary celebration for my readers ๐Ÿ™‚ Didn’t have time to associate an audio with it.

Thanks Scribby for remembering me and asking my whereabouts ๐Ÿ™‚ Life is too busy at present with work and studies. Thinking of taking up the DailyPost Challenge of posting once a week. Hmmm…

Also bad news has marred the joyous month of love. First our department’s peon’s 2 yr old kid died due to pneumonia. It was so saddening to see him cry. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Then on 13th Feb Sunday, two of my colleagues of another engineering college drowned in river while on picnic to a nearby picnic spot. It was such a shocking news. We had just met them at University on Saturday. One of them had just become aย  father. Life is so unpredictable and fickle ๐Ÿ˜ฆ And one can never be too safe. Better be safe than sorry always. Always.

No one can confidently say that he will still be living tomorrow. ~Euripides

The death of someone we know always reminds us that we are still alive – perhaps for some purpose which we ought to re-examine. ~ Mignon McLaughlin

These quotes ring so true!! May their souls rest in peace and may their families find the strength to bear the grief.

  1. We can only sum up life in two things- utilize the time we have usefully & spend that time with our loved ones. Nice & touching post.

Both the news are disasters… brought tears to my eyes reading about the 2 year old ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

P.S. what are you studying now ?

  4. Belated Anniversary wishes, Reema! Here’s to many, many more such happy anniversaries!

D really did make it special didn’t he ๐Ÿ™‚

As for the bad news, it is so shocking, isn’t it, when something like this happens to people we know. Somehow it brings it home that it can happen to any of us.. Hugs!

  5. pneumonia..oh my god and its not curable? i mean a 2yearold is quite *old* i mean not a baby anymore..oh god this scarred me so much reading about it..
i am so worried that one day my daughter will get sick and i can do nothing about it..sometimes i dream that i am in india at my inlaws place and that somethign is up with ishani and that we cant reach the hospital..i wake soaken wet each time..

    • yes it is curable…but due to negligence of cough and cold which the child was suffering from since few days and maybe incapability to afford costlier hospital led to his demise.

  6. Happy Belated Anniversary !

Oh.. it’s so sad to hear about the deaths… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
It must have been a heart wrenching period for you…
    {{hugs}}
May they rest in peace and God give their families the strength to heal…

  7. Aww Happy wedding anniversary!!!!

The news about the child was terrible, and the guy who had just become a father..its just so sad. I had a friend too, who passed away when his baby was just a year old. Luckily his wife re-married, and the child has a very loving father now. I hope your friend’s wife too, takes the right decision, when the time comes.

  8. Wow! congrats on your anniversary! I am sorry to hear about the loses around you. It is strange how those happen in cycles true? I have noticed it before, but I wonder if it is true… or just me
